NEWS Online gossip site peoplenews.com has gone into liquidation after burning through £5m in funding. Out-of-pocket backers include Ant Factory, Andrew Neil of the Scotsman and Rob Hersov of sportal. The site offered gossip on the rich and famous and was turning over about £50,000 a month - just half the £100,000 a month it was spending. Fifteen jobs will go as a result. Peoplenews was unavailable to comment on this story.
