NEWS The Metropolitan Police are investigating death threats made against England defender Sol Campbell on the official Tottenham Hotspur website. The 'fan' responsible for the posting on a message board was upset at Campbell's summer move from Tottenham to bitter North London rivals Arsenal. The board was shut down as soon as club officials were notified of the message, and an investigation immediately launched. But it may be impossible to locate the individual who wrote the message, as many posters withhold their real identity. Police officers based at Scotland Yard have questioned club officials at Tottenham, and staff working for the website providers. The outcome of the investigation may well have implications for all football chat rooms and message boards, as many contain abusive material.
