From Russia with Lycos

Time for digital perestroika...

NEWS Lycos Europe has launched a Russian language portal after claiming that the market is an up-and-coming internet hotspot. Local teams have been developing the site over the past six months after spotting a rapid growth in the number of Russian web users last year. The new portal will provide Russian users with the usual range of services such as search engines, email, chat rooms and a web catalogue. Russia's monthly internet figures are set to grow from 5.9m in 2001 to 9m users in 2002.
