Taste turns sour for Sainsbury's

If you're going to call it Taste and let Anthea Turner front it, then you're asking for trouble...

NEWS Taste Network, the joint multimedia venture between Carlton and Sainsbury's, has been abandoned 11 months after its launch. Taste was marketed as the UK's leading food website and digital TV channel, but the £10m venture failed to raise sufficient revenues from advertising or from its ecommerce branch during its short shelf life. The Taste website will be closed down and the television channel will be incorporated back into Carlton. Approximately 20 jobs have been lost as a result. The TV programme was hosted by good-taste doyen Anthea Turner.
