NEWS BEA Systems tempered better than expected financial results late yesterday with a warning of tough times ahead. The company surprised analysts, showing slightly better than expected Q2 income of $43.9m - up from $21.9m for the same period last year - but said weakness in the market has forced it to downgrade expectations for the rest of the financial year. Overall revenues at the ecommerce software specialist were also up for Q2, reaching $267.8m - an increase of $81.8m on last year.
