Dmitri pleads not guilty to judge

NEWS Russian programmer Dmitri Sklyarov pleaded not guilty to charges of breaking a controversial new copyright law at an arraignment in California. Sklyarov was arraigned on Thursday, taking the stand along with Alexander Katalov, president of ElcomSoft, the company which distributed his controversial program. The pair were formally charged with selling and conspiring to sell technology designed to circumvent the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act. A hearing will be held next Tuesday to determine a schedule for the trial. 26-year-old Sklyarov is waiting for his wife Oxana and their two young children to join him in the US.
