Financial markets rocked by US tragedy

But hard hit markets show signs of calm...

NEWS European financial markets have begun to calm down after the dramatic plunge immediately following terrorist attacks on the US. London's FTSE100 rose 2.35 per cent to 4,857.50, while the TechMARK was down 0.30 per cent trading at 1,274.75. In Paris the CAC 40 recovered losses to trade up 2.43 per cent at 4,166.11. Frankfurt's DAX 30 bounced back from a three per cent fall to trade up 2.69 per cent at 4,388.54 in unstable opening trade. The Neuer Markt also recovered a 5.6 per cent fall to trade up 2.40 per cent at 861.14.
