"No one wants to talk about buying..."

NEWS September is usually one of the busiest months of the year for sales but computer makers are undoubtedly feeling the after effects of the terrorists attacks in the US. That's the view of Sun's chief operating officer, Ed Zander. "I've been making sales calls but no one wants to talk about buying, they just want to talk about what happened in New York," Zander said. Zander was speaking in Manhattan at the launch of Sun's latest high-end server. The launch was arranged before the World Trade Center attack and the company decided to press ahead with it to show solidarity and confidence in the troubled city. Quoted in this morning's FT, Zander added: "Telecommunications and financial services have been strong growth businesses for us. Those sectors were not in good shape before the terrorist attacks and certainly aren't in better shape now."
