Book your flights and buy a book to read on the plane at the same time...

NEWS Dot-com pioneer Amazon is offering its US customers the opportunity to make their travel arrangements via its site with the opening of a travel store. Through a partnership deal with a number of travel sites, including Expedia, customers will be able to buy travel products and check the status of their flight arrangements. Expedia will also be providing the booking engine. Later in the autumn, a similar travel service will be made available to UK customers on the .co.uk site. It will, however, be tailored to suit a UK audience, although Expedia will remain the predominant partner. Additional partners have not yet been confirmed.
