Yahoo! set to unveil webcasting service

And it's another service they can charge you for...

NEWS Yahoo! is to launch a webcasting service that will allow companies to air conferences and corporate events to thousands of online viewers. The service will offer companies two packages and Virtual Conference will provide live or on-demand viewing for large audiences in remote locations. One package offers personalisation features such as pay-per-view charging or interactive question and answer sessions. The second service - Executive Communication Center-Breaking News Channel - will act as a fast breaking news channel, allowing companies to hire bandwidth for webcast breaking news events. The webcast venture is the latest in a line of revenue boosting offerings from Yahoo!, which recently began charging for many of its services. Companies can expect to pay $350,000 for a Virtual Conference package of five webcasts. The news channel service will cost $250,000. The service is due to be unveiled today.
