NEWS This month has seen the start of the UEFA Champions League, with Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United turning their attentions to the continent. However, back at home it has been business as usual. Leicester are still struggling to make any impact on the Premiership and they are once again propping up silicon.com's league table of web performance, with supporters this month experiencing an average wait of 9.08 seconds before accessing their club's site. Also languishing in the relegation zone are Tottenham not-so-Hotspur, with a pedestrian 8.08 seconds average download time. So Tottenham aren't doing too well - though of course it's still 'early doors' - but what of Glenn Hoddle's former club Southampton? The Saints may not have set the real life Premiership alight this season but they are challenging for honours in the online battle. The Southampton website downloads in an impressive 1.22 seconds - keeping the club in contention with the likes of Leeds, the real-life league leaders (1.04 seconds), Liverpool (1.99 seconds), Manchester United (1.15 seconds) and current online leaders Sunderland (0.77 seconds). Other smaller clubs battling it out with the big boys are Charlton (2.06 seconds) and Tractor Boys Ipswich (2.02 seconds).
