ebookers poised for mass redundancies

But everything's fine. Really...

NEWS Internet travel company Ebookers is to scythe up to 20 per cent of its workforce, or 120 jobs, following the 11 September attacks in the US. ebookers said it has suffered 650 flight cancellations since the terrorist attacks on New York and Washington. However, it added that targets had been met over the weekend. Despite the likely job cuts, Ebookers managing director Sanjiv Talwar said the company was still on the right track for its growth, but admitted those targets had been postponed. He insisted that the news of the cuts did not translate into an imminent profits warning because the company had been cushioned by rapid growth earlier in the quarter. The company will announce further details of the restructuring on 15 October.
