Gateway warns on wider losses

Another sorry tale from PC land...

NEWS PC maker Gateway yesterday warned that third quarter losses are going to be greater than expected. Analysts had originally anticipated a loss of four cents per share. This is now likely to be more in the range of 14 to 17 cents. Despite this, the company has reaffirmed its expectation to reach profitability for the next quarter. This will not, however, be enough to take the company into profitability for the entire second half of 2001, according to the company.
