NEWS Travelocity.com has cut ten per cent of its workforce and imposed a hiring freeze after bookings fell 30 per cent in the aftermath of the US terrorist attacks. Most of the lay-offs will hit non-customer service staff, but the company is to lose one of its four US call centres as it restructures its customer service division. Management said it would also cut advertising expenditure and other discretionary costs as it waited for bookings to stabilise.
