Virgin in digital music distribution deal

The end of album covers as we know them?

NEWS Virgin Megastore will be distributing music to customers directly to their homes via the internet before the end of the year. The company will announce today that it's joining ofrces with Tornado, a distributor of digital media products, and hopes to have the service up and running through its virginmega.co.uk site by November. Downloaded products will be encrypted, according to the Sunday Telegraph, so that they can't be pirated. Tornado was set up by Neil Ferris, a former managing director of EMI.
