NEWS Kingston Communications has teamed up with the BBC to offer unique interactive TV content to lure users in the North East onto its broadband platform. The mix of news, entertainment and education programmes will be offered to interactive television users in Hull. The trial service, BBC Hull Interactive, will include exclusive interactive content for top rating shows like Eastenders and Blue Planet and well as local information and news. Providing compelling content to encourage users to make the switch to broadband has proved a tough challenge for operators. Launching the service in Hull, BBC director general Greg Dyke said the platform provided an opportunity for the broadcaster to get closer to its viewers. "My ambition is to harness all of the benefits that digital technology provides and extend the BBC's local and learning role still further," he said.
