NEWS Research from the US shows that American office workers accessed record levels of streamed media last month. Over half of them used the internet to listen and watch streamed content in September. This figure represents an all-time high, up 21 per cent on the figure for the same period last year. The research, carried out by Nielsen NetRatings, shows 21 million people accessed streamed media content. Surprisingly the total figures for internet usage actually fell. The average web user spent less time on the net than last year. Industry watchers believe that following the 11 September attacks, desk-bound workers used the internet, rather than TV to keep updated on events.
