Surfing turf accountant buys SportingLife.com

Online bookie chances £1m on a brand that's failed before...

NEWS Online bookmaker UKbetting has bought SportingLife.com in a deal worth £1m. SportingLife.com is one of the UK's most popular sports websites and is currently run as a joint venture by the Press Association and Trinity Mirror, who brought the brand back to life after the news stand title Sporting Life folded five years ago. Both founding companies are understood to be happy with the deal, expected to be finalised tomorrow, which will see the site change hands for a nominal fee of £2 - with the rest of the deal comprising the burden of debt amassed by SportingLife.com and some cash.
