Travel shares travelling in the right direction

Expedia and Ebookers are both looking up...

NEWS Shares in UK travel site Ebookers jumped 15 per cent this morning after the company said it was close to breaking even in the third quarter. In a statement forecasting results, Ebookers said it had made a loss - before tax, interest and charges - of £500,000, down from a loss of £5.7m in Q2. Shares were trading at 110p by 08.30(BST). In the US online travel operator Expedia continued to bask in Monday's upbeat results, with shares closing 8.89 per cent up at the close of business in New York.
