Colt bolts as CWC prepares to pounce

NEWS Renewed speculation that Cable & Wireless is about by Colt Telecom helped the troubled telco's share price to its highest level in months yesterday. Colt which saw its share price plunge 20 per cent last week following a profits warning last night closed 12 per cent up on the day's trading at 137p. Despite reporting a ninth consecutive quarter of growth earlier in the month, Colt missed profit targets by £1m and saw analysts cut predictions for future growth for the company.
