NEWS Sir Peter Bonfield is set to leave his post as chief executive of BT in January with a whopping £1.49m pay-off. Bonfield wasn't due to leave the company until later in the year, but rumours of an early departure have been circulating for some time, along with growing investor dissatisfaction with his performance. Bonfield talked of "successes and failures" during his tenure at the telco giant in his official statement, without going into any detail. A successor has yet to be named.
