Nortel CEO just a night watchman

Steadying a sticky wicket, analysts bitch...

NEWS New Nortel chief executive Frank Dunn took the reigns at the troubled networking company yesterday but analysts have been less than ebullient about the appointment. Industry watchers said Dunn is only expected to maintain a steady ship and steer the company through a period of restructuring. Industry watchers do not see Dunn as the man to lead the company back to its halcyon days, and has been given a mandate of largely financial objectives: down-sizing and cost-cutting. Dunn replaces John Roth in the hot seat and was formerly CTO at the company.
