Yahoo! brings cash incentive to search engine

'Give us money and we'll find you first...'

NEWS Yahoo! has joined forces with search service Overture to include sponsored links in its search results, a move aimed at boosting revenue streams as advertising income falls. The service will allow companies to bid for higher placement in query results, with paid listings appearing in a separate column to other results retrieved by Google, Yahoo!'s search engine partner. The service will be live from Thursday, when Yahoo! integrates Overture's paid listings with its own search directory. Yahoo! has recently announced a number of fee based initiatives including corporate web casting and paid personal ads in effort to stem falling revenue.
