BTopenworld gets classical with online subscription service

NEWS BTopenworld has launched trials of the first dedicated online classical music subscription service in Europe. The full roll-out is slated for January next year. BTopenworld will provide the service for £7.99 per month, which gives subscribers access to 5,000 pieces of music which can be searched and streamed, plus full downloads of up to 10 tracks each month. The downloads can be burnt onto disk or transferred to a portable device. Users can also create or buy personalised CDs from the catalogue that can have personal designs added to the artwork, then mailed to a friend. Further music services will be trailed by BTopenworld at the beginning of 2002. The company is providing the service In partnership with Classical.com.
