Surfers stressed by aggressive websites

Please release, me let me go...

NEWS Online shoppers have become increasingly stressed by aggressive e-tail sites that don't let users escape. According to a survey by Cyveillance, five per cent of sites have resorted to using a technique called mouse-trapping. Mouse-trapping occurs when a user cannot use the back-button on their browsers to escape the site. Pop-up ads are also on the rise, with one in five sites resorting to the tactic. Meanwhile, the reports claims that a minority of sites, around one per cent, change user PC settings to force them to revisit them.
