NEWS Bankrupt high-speed ISP Excite@home has shut out 850,000 AT&T customers as it tries to get better deals with US cable companies. Last Friday, a US bankruptcy court ruled that Excite@home was not obliged to keep its existing service running while it hammered out improved terms. AT&T is still in the process of trying to buy the 77 per cent of the company it doesn't already own, but Excite@home shareholders feel it is worth more than the $307m the telco is offering.
