ebookers drops the dot-com

Foolishly thought investors would look at results before name...

NEWS ebookers.com is to take the dot-com out of its name. ebookers, as the company will be known, has said it has finally bowed to pressure - mostly from the financial community - to distance itself from the associations a dot-com moniker brings. The move is not unexpected. Numerous start-up dot-coms have dropped their internet age suffix, some with little affect. ebookers had previously refused to change its name, thinking positive results would be more important to investors.
