Nokia shares jump for joy

Investors are pleasantly surprised this quarter...

NEWS Shares in Nokia jumped 2.7 per cent this morning after the company issued an upbeat fourth quarter forecast. Nokia surprised investors and analysts with confirmation that it is sticking with a previously reduced 25 per cent quarter on quarter growth forecast for the Q4. Q4 earnings per share are expected to be between E0.18 (£0.11) and E0.20 (£0.12). The trading statement, released mid-way through Q3, had analysts fearing the worst, Shares slumped by almost three per cent in early trading after analysts predicted that Nokia will down-grade quarter on quarter targets to between 15 and 20 per cent, just two weeks after reducing targets to 25 per cent.
