lastminute.com slides further under the covers with Microsoft

But you do stand to get cheap flights out of it...

NEWS Lastminute.com has deepened its alliance with Microsoft by becoming the first firm in the UK to use Microsoft's .NET technology to push out pro-active alerts to customers. The alerts will be used to offer lastminute users up-to-date and personalised holiday offers. Users will set criteria, such as 'flights to Barcelona for less than £200' and can be alerted as soon as an offer becomes available. In a statement, Mark Greatorex, director of .NET at Microsoft UK, said the functionality "will jump-start new ways for businesses like lastminute.com to serve their existing customers and attract new ones".
