BBC plugs digital services some more

Record £20m injected into marketing spend...

NEWS A wave of unprecedented activity for BBC digital services has prompted the organisation to increase marketing spend for the department to a record £20m. This represents a substantial increase in investment, up from less than £5m two years ago. It is estimated that the average viewer will see up to 100 messages pushing digital services including digital radio station BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra. The marketing will be funded by licence fee money and will be initially used to publicise the launch of two children's services set to go live on 11 February.
