Lastminute encourages staff to buy its shares

Well, if no one else wants them...

NEWS Online travel agent lastminute.com has set up an employee 'savings scheme' under which staff can buy discounted shares in the company. Lastminute shares are trading at 32p, down from year high of 89p. Staff will be able to use some of their salaries to buy shares at discounts of up to 20 per cent, according to the Observer. The company's annual report also reveals that lastminute chief executive and poster boy for dot-com millionaires Brent Hoberman was paid £173,000 last year. Martha Lane Fox picked up £138,000.
