Vodafone clears out the closet

And picks up a couple of billion quid...

NEWS Vodafone has sold Atecs Mannesmann - the engineering business it picked up when it bought the Mannesmann group. Siemens is paying E3.6bn (£2.22bn), in cash, for the business. Vodafone is getting rid of parts of the business it does not consider useful for its global mobile expansion. Vodafone shares rose slightly on the announcement.
