Cracking mpeg, Gromit...

NEWS Aardman Animations' eccentric inventor Wallace and his faithful hound Gromit are to make a long-awaited return to the screen later this year, but on a computer rather than a television. The 12 one-minute movies will be the first new Wallace and Gromit outing since A Close Shave appeared on television in 1995. Each film will showcase one of Wallace's new inventions, including the Vac-O-Matic and the Bowl-O-Matic. "Well Wallace's inventions have moved on, they are definitely 21st Century," an Aardman spokesman told the BBC. The company became the first animation house to launch an online animation series, Angry Kid, in 2000. Over seven million people have logged on to watch it, the company claims.
