BSkyB given interactive kick in the teeth

Argos and Woolies cut their losses

NEWS Two of the biggest and most successful participants in BSkyB's interactive shopping service have pulled out. Argos and Woolworth will cease selling through the Sky Digital platform at the end of this month, citing cost as the major factor. The Independent on Sunday quotes Gerald Corbett, the chairman of GUS (owner of Argos) as saying: "We have decided to concentrate our effort on selling through the internet, although the Sky platform has some attractions. We will keep our mind open and we could return."
