Egg poised for French acquisition

Have you had en-oeuf or do you want some more?

NEWS Egg is in talks to buy French online financial business Zebank. The purchase of Zebank, owned by multi-millionaire Bernard Arnault, would be a crucial stepping stone in Egg's European expansion plans. Arnault has been trying to offload the company since the dot-com bubble burst, but wants to retain some shareholding in it should the deal go through, this morning's FT reports. Arnault was also an investor in boo.com and Boxman - both of which failed. Zebank launched in February last year, and now has over 100,000 customers.
