Alcatel and Telus pair up over broadband

French firm gets $250m, Canadian firm gets broadband platforms...

NEWS French telecoms equipment maker Alcatel has signed a deal to provide DSL broadband infrastructure to Canadian communications company Telus. The deal will see Alcatel supply Telus with its 7300 Advanced Services Access Manager - which it claims is the world's most widely deployed broadband platform. In return Telus will invest $250m over three years in Alcatel's ADSL technology.
