Troubled telco may cut jobs

Starting with the finance director...

NEWS Energis may cut 500 jobs in an effort to cut costs. The telco issued a profit warning last week and watched its share price fall almost 60 per cent on Thursday and another 20 per cent on Friday. Bill Trent, finance director at Energis, could be one of those looking for work, according to the Sunday Telegraph. The paper claims shareholders want him ousted for his failure to stick to a refinancing package arranged just five weeks ago.
