beeb.com to lay off 40 staff

Half the staff to go in restructure...

NEWS The BBC's commercial internet arm, beeb.com, is to lay off 40 staff - around half its workforce - as part of a restructuring of the service. Staff will be consulted over the coming weeks to determine where the cuts will be made, but Julian Turner, CEO of beeb ventures, is the first confirmed departee. Turner is stepping down after overseeing the initial stages of the restructuring which included a £1m facelift for the site.
