NEWS Vodafone and Orange shares continued to slump this morning after falling yesterday on the release of subscriber figures. Vodafone shares narrowed yesterday's 3.9 per cent drop at closing, but continued to trade 1.46 per cent down this morning. The company reported 4.2 million new subscribers worldwide for Q4 2001, but UK and German subscriber figures fell short of expectations, with just 250,000 signing up in Germany and 365,000 in the UK. Orange shares listed in London traded down 0.96 per cent this morning. The company reported a 25 per cent increase in full-year revenue, but signed up just 206,000 new UK customers in Q4.
