NTL shares plummet amid de-listing fears

Cable giant pleads against evictions from the NYSE...

NEWS Shares in NTL fell over 26 per cent yesterday after the company asked the New York Stock Exchange for six months grace to stop its shares being de-listed. Shares closed down 26.32 per cent at 28 cents. NTL faces delisting because its shares have traded below $1 for 30 consecutive trading days, contrary to NYSE rules. A year ago NTL shares were trading at $37. The company last week said it will not issue any further earnings guidance while banks worked to restructure its $17bn debt.
