£35 bill takes CNN offline for two days

Oops...

NEWS CNN's German website was taken offline for two days after the US news broadcaster forgot to pay its £35 domain name fee. Domain name holders are required to renew registrations every year with German domain registrar Denic. The CNN.de website was automatically taken offline on Friday after the owner Turner Broadcasting, a unit of media giant AOL Time Warner, failed to pay the annual subscription despite being given a warning. A spokesman for Denic said the registry treats all customers the same, regardless of their size.
