Guardian iT takeover talks boost shares

NEWS Guardian iT shares jumped over 48 per cent this morning after the company said it was in early stage takeover talks. Shares jumped 48.6 per cent to 54.6p by 10:00 (GMT), but they are still trading well below Monday's closing price of 74p. Guardian iT shares lost almost half their value on Tuesday when the company warned that it had uncovered accounting discrepancies of up to £4m stretching back over the last few years. Guardian IT would not comment on the identity of the possible buyer.
