Sanjay Kumar, CEO of Computer Associates, has insisted his company will not alter its accounting practices, despite admitting on Friday it was the subject of a US government probe.

Kumar told the Wall Street Journal concerns over the firm's accounting were "unwarranted" and he was not about to change policy.

Shares in CA fell 37 per cent last week after it emerged it was being probed by the Securities and Exchange Commission and US federal investigators for suspect accounting.
