Amazon chief earns a quick $36m

Bezos offloads some of his shares...

NEWS Amazon.com founder Jeff Bezos has sold off 2.95 million shares in his company, raising $36.2m in the process. The amount is more than Bezos sold in the whole of last year and some analysts are calling for an explanation as to why he has cashed in such a considerable stake in one go, according to the Wall Street Journal. Amazon.com fulfilled its promises to make a profit in its last quarter, hitting the milestone in January. Microsoft tycoon Bill Gates has also taken a similar step, cashing in $67m worth of shares yesterday, according to the Securities and Exchange Commission.
