Freeserve jumps on cheap broadbandwagon

BT has opened the floodgates...

NEWS Following yesterday's decision by BT to cut prices of wholesale broadband, Freeserve has joined the list of ISPs cutting the cost of their broadband offering to customers. BT's stranglehold on the local loop and its high prices for wholesale ADSL had kept the UK as a broadband backwater, but following its decision yesterday to lower prices, rival telcos and ISPs have been giving their customers the good news. Freeserve customers will now be offered broadband internet access for £29.99 per month. Other companies to have taken similar action include Pipex, which reacted quickly to cut broadband internet to £23.44 per month, and Freedom2surf which cut prices by £10 to £22.50. Freeserve said the offer will be limited to existing users at first.
