Demon latest to jump on the broadbandwagon

'Broadbandwagon' - get used to it, we'll not tire of it for a while yet...

NEWS Demon has become the latest company to react to BT's cut in wholesale broadband internet prices by dropping the price of its own high-speed offering. Self-install ADSL will now be available via Demon for £28.99 per month, plus a one off fee of £50. Demon Express Solo, available from 18 March, will provide an always-on internet connection with up to 512Kb downstream bandwidth and 256Kb upstream. In a statement, Bill Allan, chief executive of Demon's parent Thus, said: "BT cutting the cost of DSL wholesale was a bold move and has enabled us to offer a compelling product to our customers. "We applaud BT's initiative yesterday and now encourage BT to be equally aggressive in unbundling the local loop to enable a greater range of services to be offered to 'Broadband Britain'."
