NEWS Sportal, the online information service dedicated to sport, is back less than six months after filing for bankruptcy. New owners, UKbetting will relaunch Sportal today as a site with a more humorous tone. It will feature competitions, chat rooms and online games. UKbetting paid £1 for the debt-laden dot-com in November 2001. At the height of the dot-com boom, Sportal was the proposed target of a £275m bid from French media firm and Vivendi subsidiary Canal Plus. It was also an official sponsor of Euro 2000.
They thought it was all over...
Most hackneyed phrase in sport is back. And so is Sportal...
