Nice: Jazz FM is world's top internet radio station

"We almost fell off our chairs when we heard..."

NEWS Jazz FM has emerged as the surprise winner in the most listened to radio station in the world, according to US audience measuring company Measurecast. Jazzfm.com's surprised CEO Richard Wheatley contacted the largest US audience measuring company, Arbitron, to confirm the result and was told that the radio station attracts around 800,000 page visitors and 10 million pages impressions a month. Arbitron put the company at second rather than first, however. "We almost fell off our chairs when we heard," Wheatley told the FT. Jazzfm.com reported interim losses of £181,000 this week.
