NEWS After four years of squabbling with a Californian airport, Oracle boss Larry Ellison has moved his most expensive toy - a Gulfstream V jet, worth around $40m. The jet has been at the centre of a dispute with San Jose International Airport as Ellison occasionally flew it outside curfew hours, which are in place between 23:30 (local time) and 06:30 to keep night time noise to a minimum. Last year the Oracle chief won a legal battle to fly the jet during the night time curfew, but the airport then complained that the plane was taking up too much space. It has since been discovered that Ellison has rather quietly moved the jet to an airfield in Stockton. The Gulfstream V travels at speeds of up to .87 mach and has a range of 6,500 nautical miles.
In 2000, fellow tech tycoon Steve Jobs was given a Gulfstream for his hard work at Apple.
