AOL limps past 34m subscriber milestone

Which is quite a lot of people really...

NEWS Slowing growth in the market for internet access has put a slight downer on AOL's latest subscriber figures. It now has more than 34 million users, but the company took 74 days to bring in its last million members - more than twice the time it took to acquire the previous million. One of the predominant reasons for this is the relatively slow take-up in Europe. The company has also pinpointed disappointing sign-ups for its high-speed access service and a slow-up in the dial-up market.
